As the former owners of Cheddar Alley in Newton, NJ. We knew that someday the universe would lead us back to our passion of providing the best cheeses and charcuterie in the area. We offer the expertise of having a true cheese monger to curate the best collection and assortment of provisions. Guests will enjoy the taste, smell, and feeling of buying one of life’s greatest pleasures while enjoying a truly unique shopping experience.

Meet the Owners

Kristi Vait
Founder/Chef

Chef Kristi, also of The Farmer’s Daughter, has been cooking and baking as long as she can remember. A Culinary Institute of America graduate, she combines her love of food, family recipes and years of restaurant and hotel experience into creative and homey dishes. Her love of local and quality ingredients comes through in her cooking, and her abundant love of cheese has found its way into many of these creations.

Chef Alex, raised in an executive-chef household, was born a true foodie. A self-taught chef, he was exposed to the hospitality industry from a young age, learned to cook starting at 2 years old, and eventually worked his way through every position available in several restaurants. With his family history of farming and agriculture, coupled with his military experience, he has dedication, discipline, and true passion for his work in and out of the kitchen of the family’s restaurant business.
